THE PEOPLE BEHIND NEUR0FLAME

The Team

Scientists and engineers from the TReNDS Center and partner institutions who make large-scale, privacy-preserving neuroscience possible without ever pooling raw data.

Motivation behind NeuroFLAME

NeuroFLAME was developed at the Center for Translational Research in Neuroimaging and Data Science (TReNDS), a tri-institutional center spanning Georgia State University, Georgia Institute of Technology, and Emory University.

TReNDS's mission is to develop, apply, and share advanced analytic approaches and neuroinformatics tools. These tools leverage advanced brain imaging and omics data, with the goal of translating these methods into biomarkers that address brain health and disease. Large-scale data sharing and multimodal data fusion are at the core of this approach.

That vision is what NeuroFLAME is built to realize at scale. The platform enables large-scale, privacy-preserving neuroscience research, and is designed to run across institutions without ever pooling raw data.

By bringing this combined expertise to bear, NeuroFLAME extends TReNDS's long-standing commitment to a highly collaborative, interdisciplinary environment. It makes it possible for researchers everywhere to ask harder neuroscience questions that span larger, more diverse datasets than any single site could assemble alone.
