Bradley Baker is a Research Scientist II at the TReNDS Center and Georgia State University, working at the intersection of complex biological systems and computational theory. His current research spans the dynamics and theory of learning in artificial neural networks and the creation of novel methods for connectivity and biomarker discovery in neuroimaging, with active projects on vascular dementia and the interaction of pharmaceuticals with mood disorders. He is also focused on developing novel methods for the ethical application of deep learning and other complex models to neuroimaging data, leveraging distributed, privacy-sensitive features to protect patient privacy and state-of-the-art model introspection to foster interpretability for reliable clinical and biological interpretation, areas central to NeuroFLAME’s design. He contributes to developing the platform’s federated computation modules and ensuring that complex models can be applied to neuroimaging data ethically and interpretably across sites.
